residents in mytholmroyd have done what they can, but acknowledge they are at the mercy of the elementss very nerve—wracking for me, and it's really very stressful. they might of the military came to the aid of people in ilkley. it has real purpose. you can see the immediate requirements, you can see the local community need assistance, so you can see what you're doing. of course we're used to the bad weather anyway and we have the right kit. there is particular concern about the river ouse in york. it's forecast to reach a level similar to the year 2000, which caused the worst flooding in the city centre since records began. the council says it has provided more than 1,000 sandbags in the area. this all comes just a week after areas like surrey took a battering from storm ciara. we are concerned that storm dennis is going to build on that impact from last weekend, maybe the winds are not going to be as high, but we expect high levels of rainfall. in scotland melting snowfall is adding to the problems in places like glencoe. people are advised to leave their homes and parts of the scott

flood defence work further up the river, in mytholmroyd, they are due to come to an end this summer.ng us on bbc two. our scotland reporter, alexandra mackenzie, is outside glasgow central station. how are things out there? there is a yellow wind and snow warning in place across much of scotland. that is going to be in place until wednesday at midnight. still a couple of days to go. it was snowing here a short while ago but it has just stopped. i am here at glasgow central station, i'm not sure how much you can see behind me, but there is a very long queuejust inside the station, people have been queueing up for up to an hour. they are waiting for a bus to take them down to carlisle because there are no trains running between glasgow and carlisle no trains running between glasgow and ca rlisle because no trains running between glasgow and carlisle because of serious flooding. all the transport around carlisle is affected. i'm not sure how many but they have been waiting over an hour, rather unpleasant for these people. obviously, other modes of transport have also been affected, flig

karl boggis is the chair of the facebook group — mytholmroyd flood wardens and also a school governorflood water was throughout a foot about much of the building, unfortunately very reminiscent of 2014. less water but just as devastating. what measures we re just as devastating. what measures were put into place after that flood that you hope wouldn't have to happen again? the amount of work going on through the village we hoped would save us from a similar fate. u nfortu nately hoped would save us from a similar fate. unfortunately with the work is taking the time they have taken, we had temporary defences in place which unfortunately failed very early on. which meant the amount of water that came through and into the village has left things devastated once again. i suspect the word frustrating doesn't do it. frustrating is a long way short, i think anger is back on the cards, and rightly so. we were told early on they could probably never stopped the lights of boxing day 2015 but this is very close, and very, very soon, yes, far too soon after the original event. what effect will th
