he is thinking of his mentor, general braddock. he wants to live up to the standards. each of the states is not only fighting against a foreign foe, they are fighting a civil war, internal civil wars with their own subjects that are rising up and rebelling in the name of the king to try to challenge their authority. their own citizens are demanding they do something. they have to answer their constituents. washington's army by 1779, 1780, are demanding we fight british fire with fire. the gloves are off. this has gone too far. washington throughout the war fights that impulse. constantly fighting the impulse for revenge. trying to talk people off the ledge. trying to reason with congress. congress will want to throw some hessian officers in a dungeon. please let's not be rash, etc. washington gets his opportunity to show he is in fact a european-style officer deserving of that title in october of 1781. another british general, this time charles cornwallis, will surrender his army at yorktown. another roughly 6000 men. those are the two big captures of the war, yorktown

the bay airport right now it's over northern california, north facing it and the east bay mary sue braddockom ayres from sausalito, tiburon and colgate over towards him cisco, we got light rain. the bay bridges covered for the east bay is covered. i-80 right now from fairfield into the sacramento valley stretching west fairly covered all the way through berkeley and oakland and heyward. and off to the east we have the inner east bay now covered in green as well. here's a view of what's happening in the sierra with the snow levels are just about 4000 feet. a little bit below that and continuing to fall for today and into the next few days. there is an advisory for trouble already underway that goes all the way until monday afternoon. 50 and 80 and all the high was around tahoe you can expect this. heavy snow at times. would you like conditions and weather conditions in the possibility of five feet of new snow all said and done. that's great news. for us we are talking about half inch to an inch and a half or so. maybe close to two inches for some hills. breezy in the hills this morning. 30-4
