and you see the 487, 000, you see the old roofs from the boxing ring, bush clinton, reagan all beat up. it is a lovely example of taking a complicated political issue and ideally, if you are doing a good political cartoon, you can distill it down to a nice visual nugget that can convey the complexity, hopefully with a little bit of bite. this is a cartoon i did that they liked here. it is about the head of the chamber of commerce which happens to be next door. i should date my cartoons but i believe this one is from 2008. resistance is futile, and they are blasting the democrats with piles and piles of cash. i understand he actually likes these cartoons which fills me with mixed emotions. these represent the golden age of american political cartooning, which you would've found and punk magazine, which was a political cartoon magazine. they were done by caterpillar. their color lithographs i wish i knew the details of the time, but here you have a classic cartoon, a big thumb of the big interests being held down on the speaker and it says, the caption down here is very small, the leader
