on friday investigators say he was in wilmington can connecticut 25 miles northeast of hartford when he attacked two older men with a machete, killing one and seriously wounding the other. police say he then broke into the home of a 73-year-old man, and stole it to another location where he allegedly killed a 23-year-old male acquaintance and kidnapped the man's girlfriend. the suspect and the girlfriend then drove her car to the new jersey pennsylvania border where police say the woman escaped. peter manfredonia's family issued a statement saying they love him and they want him to surrender. the families tha family believee would give it peacefully in the connecticut state police offered this plea. >> we know this is not who you are. peter, i want you to know that we are continuing our investigation. the one thing we are missing right now is you. we want you to be able t to to tell your story. we are here to listen to you. >> is a senior at the university of connecticut where he stays engineering. an attorney for the family says the 23-year-old has struggled with mental health issue
