here's mike inouye with that new normal for us. mike? >> reporter: yeah, marcus, good morning.now, locally the shelter at home has made our maps a lot greener and the air quality as well. fewer cars. but around the world, i think the trend is actually, maybe, looking a little bit pinker. check this out, "time" magazine tweeted this video, over 100,000 flamingos off the coast of mumbai, india. scientists think the lockdown is keeping people inside and making things more peaceful for the wildlife. they're looking at 25% more of these living lawn ornaments than they usually see there. check this one out as well, the philippines. look closely, the waters off the coast are filled with tomato jellyfish. there are many possible reasons. one of them is the quarantine, keeping the waters peaceful so they think the jellyfish are now coming up to the surface on quiet beaches, leading to active waters. these shy animals are getting a little chance in the sunlight. >> wow, beautiful to look at. thanks, mike. >>> let's get a last look at that forecast, kari. >> well, our weather is pretty be

mike inouye is here with that new normal for us. mike?reporter: yeah, marcus, for the last 20 years, triple a has issued a travel forecast for a volume of traffic on memorial day weekend travel. but they didn't do that this year. this year, they're simply predicting a record low for the holiday weekend. a new record, i guess. but it's due to the current restrictions we've been talking about. remember, the current normal looked like what we're seeing at the bay bridge toll plaza, it's empty. no problem. instead of travel volume now, this year triple a is reporting a 3% increase in the calls they're getting to take care of dead batteries. if you're not driving, the cars are trickling the batteries down. i got this info from their spokesperson two days ago, sergio avila. this is him talking to chris chmura on "car care", his special on saturday. we can at least take the opportunity to physically recharge our own batteries, emotionally. perhaps it's a good weekend to sit around if it's a too hot. >> i'm already there, mike. already there. >>>

minu mike inouye has a look at the new rules implemented by one business. mike? >> reporter: marcus, we have to adapt, as you said. movie theaters are closed so for a movie out, you have to do something new that's actually old, like the capitol or the solano drive-in, with a few new rules. you have to stay in your car or you're allowed to go to the bathroom as well. everything else, they say consider it lava, so it's like elementary school on the playground. you need to wear a mask when you're outside of the car and also, of course, mind the lava, remember. and you can go to the bathrooms, as we said, minding your spacing in the facility. that exception is the only one or two. beware the lava, of course,r ca socially distance. you have to leave at least ten feet of lava between them to socially distance, whether folks are getting in or out. new ways of looking at an old stand where standby, marcus, i don't know if you even remember that. >> no. thanks, mike. >>> belgians are urged to eat more fries. this sounds like a joke but it's not. it's a serious request aim
