peter is still with us.s simultaneous rally in gold and silver say to you about the market mindset? should we interpret it simply as gold rallying with the expectation of prolonged low interest rates? a silver rally because there is some hope in the market of a continued rebound and industrial demand, even if consumer demand remains depressed? peter: i think it is probably a combination of all of them. the gold rally is obviously not new. it has been with us. zero everywhere. that means you don't get any or relatively little income from holding fixed income assets. that obviously means holding gold relatively speaking as more advantageous. on top of it, there's all sorts of risks ranging from reflation on the one hand to some kind of calamity in the world. any sort of for safe asset even more attractive. when you look at the pricing relatively speaking between the two metals you mentioned, silver is relatively cheap to gold. it is catching up now, particularly in an environment where you do see some kind of

>> peter, kristen, it's a very scary situation. remember, when people talk about the economic recovery, they say, this is going to be a "v." when people get back to work, everything will be fine and dandy. people can't get back to work if we're still amid this massive health crisis. the reason so many people were laid off to begin with was because of the stay-in-place orders. in order to address the health crisis, people needed to go nee. guess what, many of those businesses are still being put on hold, especially in hot spots like california, texas, florida. so for so many of those people, they can't simply get back out there and go to work. you mentioned that the president has said, people are disincentivized to go to work because of that $600 payment. there may be some instances where this cushion is more money than people were making previously, but that's not many people. the overwhelming majority of americans getting this money, they are spending it on rent, food, necessities, everyday necessities, so people are very scared.

peter the u.s. actually peter before i get to the next question i was going to ask you what do you feel when it comes to silver. well look i think silver is an incredible bargain i mean bargains tend to persist for a lot longer than you think i do think that there's a chance that we've seen the low price of silver in terms of gold for the cycle silver has moved off those lows but historically the relationship silver is still very very cheap i have a feeling that one silver breaks out it's going to have a spectacular move i don't know when that's going to be but i think smart money is accumulating it until it does i do think there are some people that have been buying gold and shorting silver as a spread and i think at some point that spread is going to be unwound of you know that process hasn't already begun but i have a feeling once we get through that $20.00 range i mean we're barely above 19 i mean we're trying to get up there but i think once we can really get to you know handle or 20 handle on
