there's that train of moisture just beginning to come up from the south now and that is targeting the bay area. so certainly an area of concern is some of the showers now beginning to pop up really off the coast of big sur now that's going to sweep in through the night tonight late tonight, especially early tomorrow morning. i think that will be our best chance to see some of that lightning which is somewhat unusual usually you have to get the heating in the afternoon to produce lightning storms in the bay area. but you don't some of that subtropical moisture. 7 bodies game as we head in toward tomorrow morning. temperatures certainly been hot blazing heat around the bay area news records coming down a 108 degrees in little more that was a record napa checking into 103 a record one '03 in santa rosa or another record broken there are a 102 in redwood city oakland tied a record of 93 and during another blazing day there are a 108 degrees but all around the bay area certainly very hot temperatures and it's staying warm out there tonight and that's why the heat advisories and excessive heat warni

we are not seeing a lot of thunderstorm activity in the bay area. over in the sacramento valley, we are picking up quite a bit. the warnings continue until 5:00 this afternoon. for the northbay, east bay, south bay, the entire bay area, you can see from the shade of red. starting at 11:00 last night, you can see all the moisture coming in from the south of baja, california. if you take a closer look over the sierra, you can see the thunderstorm activity and the lightning there. for us, i think, one lightning strike was detected over southeast areas of the scu complex. that is some good news. the risk is not gone completely. although, you can see, this morning, that air mass is a lot more stable than what we had. let's check in on some of the shower activity, even some of the rain over the area of richmond. we have light rain following the san rafael bridge. as we go north, the bodega bay, over near cloverdale, quote calistoga, this is getting into the winds. it is generally light out there. fairfield is reporting 12 miles per hour. i am seeing a litt
