the body of a 70 year-old man in the last chance area of santa cruz county kron four's will tran live at the cal fire base camp that's a scotts valley. he has the latest for us well. >>marty they just wrapped up the news conference a little bit more information on that man who died his name not being released. but we do know that he was found near his vehicle in the attempt of leaving the fire so he was trying to rescue himself but overcome, but either the smoke or the flames so he was not inside his home at the time and that's when they believe that he was desperately trying to flee unfortunately he ran out of time and the fires just simply overcame him as far as the condition of the fire still very much burning out of control at this time they're throwing 1500 firefighters at this. the latest numbers. good news to pass along heading into the overnight hours it was sitting at 8% containment. now it's at 13% containment. unfortunately, the acreage has gone up from 74,000 to 78,000 acres burned and the structures also that has gone up from approximately 170 to 180 structures destroyed or damaged.
