in sonoma county, emily turner, kpix 5. >> reporter: i'm in st.watching the glass fire that blew up overnight. you can see it on the hillside, beyond this vineyard here behind me. 11,000 acres now and just last night, calfire had it at 2500 acres. you can see how much this fire grew in just the past few hours. and we saw these evacuations in the city of calistoga as well as the area around the state park. the wind is calm right now but it is unpredictably whipping up. at that point you don't know which direction it is going. here's some of the video we took yesterday that we know several homes, dozens in fact burned yesterday. we saw more burning today. but no idea on the extent of the devastation right now. now that the sun has come up, calfire will get a better idea on that. at this point they are still so focused on protecting life and safety and making sure that people who are under these mandatory evacuation orders have gotten out. there is an evacuation center set up in napa right now. that is at the crosswalk community church. i'm anne mako

. >>> kpix 5's emily turner is there this morning. >> reporter: finally glad there's some good news to report. which is overnight. no new evacuation orders. the fire though has grown to 46,000 acres and only 2% contained. you can see some of those flames behind me that they are smoldering up there on the hillside above napa valley. now calistoga is the area that remains a ghost town for now but it's just a waiting game as changing winds are expected to hit the area and they're looking to receive which way the flames are going to move next. now that's up to firefighters to try and get containment lines drawn ahead of that. monday night, the blaze was slowly approaching calistoga town. but now, the fire has moved up and its orange glow can be seen on the northeast side of highway 29. fire crews are now working to keep those flames from jumping the highway. they also say that there are more than 2,000 firefighters here fighting the blaze and in sonoma and napa counties. calistoga residents say they're glad the fire hasn't entered the city limits but they're still nervous and really tired
