but also, the last one that jeanette made their examples as selfless scholars is what always , stands out to me. scholarship stands outcome of those examples of what it means to be a scholar, what it means to love black people, is something that stands out. i will take a moment to answer some questions posed, and speak also to some of the critical points made by terrel and jeanette. i will begin by talking about access to sources. i initially acquired the john wheeler papers in 2006. the papers ended up being fully processed in 2016, so it was 10 years. the library made the materials available to me but i had to do old-school notetaking. when they were processed and i came back to it and transitioned to the book from the dissertation, i was kind of lost. i already looked at this but i do not know where it was. that was a great process in that it forced me to adjust the digest the material and make decisions about what can i take notes on, what can i cross-reference in other collections across the country, so it made me work from that standpoint. so i really got to know these sources.

jeanette nesheiwat. your reaction to the announcement? >> this is extraordinary, griff.y a miraculous blessing. this is what we need. this is the light at the end of the tunnel. like he said, probably about 70% of americans need to be vaccinated so we can reach what's called herd immunity. what does this mean for us? that means no more social distancing, no more wearing of masks, no more lockdowns or shutdowns. hopefully, december 11th the first batch of vaccines will be shipped out and people will be able to get vaccinated. those who are at high risk, those who are on the frontlines, first responders, will be the first to receive the vaccine. not too long after, hopefully by april, everyone else will be able to immunized. you need about two doses and we can reach that herd immunity no later hopefully than may, just in time for the summertime. this is great news, definitely couldn't be a better time. we need it to help reduce the amount of cases that we have as we see we have over 250,000 deaths already in this country. we really need to tackle those numbers and turn it
