ahead of the event, matsumura visited local flower growers.t this farm, sales dropped by 50% during the spring season, and times are tough financially. >> translator: talking with other farmers, we all wish the pandemic hadn't happened. flowers are living things too. it's been really sad to see them fade unsold. >> reporter: in all, matsumura bought 58 pallets of flowers, including 13 different varieties from ishimura's farm. the colorful display brightening the temple seemed to ease the anxiety caused by the pandemic. over the two days, more than 1,600 people came to enjoy it. visitors were encouraged to pick out their favorite flowers to take home with them. >> translator: all we can do to support the farmers is to carry on buying their flowers and to keep decorating our homes. >> translator: we hope more people will understand the challenges faced by flower growers. we're doing further events like this around the country to encourage people to buy more flowers. let's get a check of the markets. >>> that's it for "newsline biz." thank you fo
