then of course the sound starts, voice starts out of the rv that was parked across the street saying, us to get out. that we needed to evacuate now. a bomb was in this vehicle. this vehicle will explode. that was repeated several times. and, and then, that went on probably 15 to 20 minutes. it is hard for me to know exactly how long. you start galloping around trying to figure out what you're going to do. and then when the "countdown" started that when she said, when the voice said, you have 15 minutes to evacuate and that, then you have 14 minutes to evacuate. and so, yes, that was harrowing and we gathered up my cat, my family, and we went down the elevator. went out of the back way because we didn't know if there was a active shooter perhaps on the street. we just didn't know. and then we went up the street to the garage where i parked my car and got in that and went across the river and saw, sat over at nissan stadium and, you know, just sat there for 20 or 30 minutes when the explosion didn't happen, i drove back over the bridge and came down second avenue where we viewed the exp

we call a motorhome or camper van and the rest of the world there was a suspicious vehicle parked on a street which didn't have any number plates apparently so the police were called a police officer went to the scene and decided that this was a suspicious vehicle and alerted the the bomb squad effectively the local bomb squad to come and take a look at it while further reinforcements were on their way there was this explosion the explosion has links to the core there has been any explicit suggestion that it was the vehicle but certainly that's what people are drawing from from the circumstantial evidence. an enormous explosion we're seeing from social media the people miles away felt the explosion we're seeing the damage in all the video that's being being released around 20 buildings at least have been have been damaged we should correct some news some reporting that we had earlier that this was outside the 18th skyscraper that's actually around the corner from here but but it was in the vicinity of an a.t.m. t. building that's used which has lots of switching equipment for the local teleco

know but then after the 3rd series of gunshots we heard we noticed as an r t why are parked right across the street. and coming from the r.p.g. was the computerized voice message saying a back you wait now evacuate now this vehicle has a bomb it will explode evacuated now and so this went on for about 30 minutes and we were or about that you know it's not like i was sitting there looking at my phone trying to figure out what the time was but. it was a it was about 30 minutes that that happened and then it started on account down where it said this vehicle will explode in the thing manner and then in 14 that and then into the well we started really gathering our things back at my cat in her carrier i got my son he was staying in another apartment that was also overlooking 2nd avenue and we were all very concerned about all this in the way my 85 year old sister was staying in another apartment that was on the other side of the building on the backside overlooking the river and so we all went down and got in the car. are and where and we went across the bridge over to lp field. and our nissan stadium

an rv parked on a downtown street exploded, damaging several buildings. also now have sound, a recording that warned people near the rv to evacuate. >> evacuate now. if you can hear this message, evacuate now. if you can hear this message, evacuate now. >> natasha chen joining us live from nashville. what is the latest on the investigation? >> reporter: fred, it's still a very active scene. that's why we're all the way back here on 2nd avenue where the blast happened, but the perimeter is set up several blocks away from us. you can see police cars there flashing their lights and blocking off with tape. there's actually a curfew right now to keep people away from this area. that started the afternoon of christmas day. that will go into sunday afternoon. it means that some of the residents who live right by where the explosion happened, the people who heard the first gunshots, called 911 and then heard the ominous recorded message from the rv. they evacuated when this happened and they really haven't been able to go back in. here's one witness who told cnn
