. >> and brandy, how do you keep track of all these groups? you've been writing today that the statehouses around the country could be targets, much softer targets as michael indicated. what are the kind of threats they're receiving and how do you patrol social media when the groups migrating to new forms of communication? >> yeah. so the threats that we know about right now are really general. it's not like on the 6th where we saw specific targeted plans. the fbi sent the memo and generic planned protests and that's what we're seeing online as well, generic flyers about stop the steal protests or second amendment protests or refuse to be silenced protests. they're the usual people, militia members, anti-government people. they invoke ashli babbitt, who was killed on wednesday when they stormed the capitol. we don't know which might spur real-world events. what's happened online at least, facebook has kicked these people off the platform, the militia and others. they've gone to smaller apps like parlor or gab. parlor is out and gab is useless

bran brandi, i want to start with you.has been a central figure in the qanon conspiracy. what happens to qanon on january 21st? >> well, cults and, you know, churches don't generally just give up their messiahs, and we don't expect that to happen now, whether trump's in the white house or not. trump seems to be the central figure with this group, and he seems like he will continue to be, as only proven right so far as we look toward his claims, his baseless claims that the election was contested, that he actually won. they are the main people sort of shepherding this lie. and so, that's expected to continue. >> clint, the social media companies, i would argue, particularly over the last, say, three months, did seem to make some efforts to purge themselves of qanon, in a way they didn't before. looking back, how successful have they been? or are these folks going to just migrate over to the parlors and the more extreme sites around the internet? >> chuck, you know, we do have some parallels that we can look at. there have b

terms of deleting donald trump, which, wow, finally, it might have been too little, too late. >> brandy, the air-force veteran who was shot and killed during the insurrection, part of a trend, women consumed by qanon. request has qanon been so successful at appealing to women, particularly white women? >> i mean, it's a pandemic. and so, you know, what we saw is we've been -- we were -- we were looking for those groups when we were tracking them across platforms. and so, the qanon group, specifically. they -- they did a really good job at reaching out their sort of tentacles, as it were, and communicating with other groups who weren't, necessarily, qanon but who were conspiratorial in nature. like anti-vax was a big one. the holistic, healing community. you know, those types of like alternative-health stuff. and soon, it worked really well. and so, they -- we saw the qanon groups increase, sometimes, tenfold between march, the lockdown orders. and -- and -- and through the next month. so, you're right, it did a really good job with -- it's interesting. with the woman you mentioned, the
