joining us is kristin declark and sonali basak.some serious animal spirits in this market for a long time -- what is the demand takedown? kristin: across-the-board on the ipo calendar, it converts everything across-the-board in terms of the etm product. the ipo's priced this year so far over 40%. every single stack is up trading above issue price. it is a strong market across-the-board. alix: does that mean spac is becoming so much of the volume? kristin: you are seeing investors really piling into the front end of the spac because they are working. even from the investors side, if 20% to 30% of the spacs did not find an acquisition, the returns are strong enough because of the aftermarket trading of the ones that are. we are finding acquisitions and that's getting muddled into the way investors are thinking about spacs. they are forming new strategies to participate in the spac ipo. alix: we know with the immediate calendar looks like. we saw bumble looking to raise more money here. what is your pipeline look like? kristin: i woul

kristin, where is the republican party right now? president trump still have with republican voters and, thus, with republican officials? >> right now this is a party that is very divided. about half of the party is with donald trump, they want him to run for president again, they should choose him in a primary and think of themselves more as trump supporters than as republicans first. but then there's the other half of the party. they're interested in looking at folks from ted cruz, to ron desantis down in florida, nikki haley, even mike pence. and they're interested in seeing the party do what's next. i think until a leader really merges that can both satisfy the desire of trump voters to have someone who's going to be a fighter for them with a populist agenda but who can also speak to those more disaffected republicans who is different than donald trump in that way, i think things are going to be pretty tough for the gop. chris: josh, your former boss, mitch mcconnell, set off quite a battle with donald trump this week. is mcconne

kristin, what are your hearing?d of president biden's trip to the state department in just a few minutes, the national security adviser came to the briefing room and spoke alongside white house press secretary jen psaki. he said it is no coincidence that president biden's first trip to a cabinet agency was, indeed, the state department. it was deliberate and here's why. >> he wants to send a clear message that our national security strategy will lead with diplomacy. once we have established this position of strength, we will be able to compete more effectively with our competitors across the board and especially with china in every domain; economic, diplomatic, technological, security, you name it. we'll be able to counter russia more effectively. >> reporter: now, during that briefing jake sullivan made a few big announcements. he announced an end to american support for offensive operations in yemen, effectively ending u.s. involvement in that country's civil war. he also announced a freeze to the drawdown of u.s.

. >> neil: thanks, kristin. the read on this from dr. anthony fauci, the chief medical adviser. good to have you here. as you have seen here, 57 million vaccine doses have been delivered. 35 million have gotten them though. what is the problem with that? >> well, a couple things. certainly there's a discrepancy between the amount delivered and the amount that's gotten in people's office. it's not necessarily as large a gap as the numbers show. very often when you get a vaccine into a person's arms, it's not reported as having been done for a period of a few days. it's likely less of a gap. there's still a gap. that gets to something that you actually just announced a moment ago. is that president biden made it very clear as part of his strategic plan that came out a couple weeks ago that we're going to do whatever we can to enhance and support the implementation of the administration. that goes to everything from what you just said about getting it first, 1,100 military troops to be a part of the process of getting the vaccine into people's arms in several of the community vacci

kristin: thank you for that introduction. thank you to henry for conducting this research and for including me in this panel. this is a topic that i have cared deeply about for over a decade, since i started studying younger voters, why they were gravitating away from the gop, and what that might mean for the roof moving forward. -- for the republican party moving forward. the trump era really blew up a lot of expectations and notions about what the republican party was and what it could be in the future. i think this survey, initially, i struggled with what my thoughts would be on what this survey means for the republican coalition moving forward. because as we have repeatedly noted, this is a survey of 1000 trump voters, which is a very large coalition, a coalition of 74 million americans. that is not, unfortunately for the republican party, a majority coalition. having lost the white house and both chambers of congress, it is clear that there needs to be much more addition than subtraction moving forward. the question is,
