bay area to reopening. more bay area counties could be moving into the red tier. let's start with san francisco. the city's health department says it expects to move into the red tier next week. this graph shows the number of covid cases per 100,000 people in san francisco, in order to move into the red tier, this number needs to be below seven for two weeks in a row. look at the peak of the surge, about 19 right there. but today we are down to five, which is below the seven mark. san francisco qualifies for the red tier which could happen next tuesday. a similar case in santa clara county. look at that right there, we are talking 33. this is, again, 40,000 per 100, excuse me, 40 per 100,000 people. look at it now, though, we are down to 6.7. once again, below the seven mark to get in the red tier. santa clara county could also move into the red tier. one more important note here. if these counties move into the red tier next week, county health leaders still have to sign off and agree to allow more businesses to reopen. it goes back to the state's guidance but comes down to the county level to
