back in 2019, we sent mike corey to the coast where conservationists have found an ingenious — albeit an ongoing conservation challenge. few international travellers venture here, but in recent years the amazing transformation of its ecosystem has begun to draw people like me. it might not be one of the most beautiful ecosystems, but it is actually quite full of life. there are snails, cockles, crabs, macaques, birds — all kinds of wildlife, here. there's a monkey right here with a crab in its mouth. this place is quite an experience. the shellfish, shrimp, and crabs which thrive in this environment were almost at the brink of collapse a few years ago, because of the dramatic loss of one single thing — mangroves. industrial shrimp farming left the mangrove forest decimated, and with it a fragile ecosystem which the villagers depended on to survive. but the local people began to fight back. paiboon helped bring hundreds of people from nearby villages to replant the mangroves. eventually, their work began to pay off and it caught the attention of royalty. ok, when i knew that i was goin

for me, mike corey, and the rest of team here in beautiful zanzibar, keep planning your adventures andn the way for a while next week but the weekend started really quite chilly out there with some sunshine, but this is what's coming our way. the cloud and rain streaming in from the atlantic replacing those earlier wintry showers that we had first thing this morning. so whilst there's still some sunshine around its going be slowly fading, the cloud increases from the west, we see a few more showers coming into the south—west of england and wales. a bit of patchy rain for northern ireland and into western parts of scotland with the hazy sunshine lasting for longer across the eastern side of the uk. after that cold start, temperatures are no great shakes this afternoon and just making double figures for many parts of the country. as it turns more cloudy the winds pick up as well and it's going to be windy overnight, rain pushing down across many areas. not much towards the south and south—east of england and the rain will turn more showery, i think, in scotland. but because it's windy ov

for now, from me, mike corey and the rest the team from beautiful pemba island, it is goodbye.a pretty similar day to how yesterday was, with many places starting chilly, grey, foggy with some low cloud, that will slowly burn back to the east coast, allowing for some sunshine to develop for many of us. so a largely dry day today, a chilly start with that low cloud and fog. many places though will turn brighter into the afternoon. now, it's all driven by this area of high pressure, which is keeping things fine and settled. most places will see light winds which is why we will start off rather grey with this fog around for many places. the exception, the west of scotland, parts of northern ireland, the far west of england and wales, which will start cold, frosty and sunny. but eventually the sun will get going on this cloud, thinning and breaking it. but it could linger again like on monday, through parts of eastern wales, the midlands, eastern england and also eastern scotland, where we will continue to see some threatened haar lapping against the coast. sunshine though will dev
