democratic delegate stacey plaskett is here. she represents the u.s.n islands and was one of the impeachment managers in trump's second impeachment trial. thank you for joining us. let's get straight to what the president said tonight. he wants all americans to have access to the vaccine by may 1st. who has access now? here's the facts. only 6.4% of americans are black. is enough being done to get the vaccine to communities of color and encourage people to get these shots? >> well, i believe that the president has the tremendous rollout plan to get all of us vaccinated by may, to have the vaccines in place. i think it's incumbent on us as elected officials along with the government to continue in an aggressive messaging plan to make african americans, people of color feel comfortable about the vaccine, to overcome many reticence within each of our communities that are keeping individuals from being vaccinated, some of the most vulnerable communities. i'm so excited to see an individual like dr. nunez smith who is heading up this work for the president,

that should be stricken down. >> joining me now is congresswoman stacey plaskett of virgin islands.ks of welfare mamas and just very, very racist remarks throughout his time even in the state legislature in wisconsin and then of course in the committee. >> maybe this is -- hmm? >> i was going to say just like many republicans what they used to say in kind of coded messages no longer coded but very blatant about what they say. >> clearly. here's more of glen, here he is attacking the relief bills to minority farmers because who would want that? >> we have loan forgiveness on farms based on ethnicity. okay? some people get a forgiveness. some people aren't. i think that's incredibly divisive. we started with a divisive inaugural speech to start with. >> i don't know what he could have thought was divisive in joe biden's speech other than against racism. but you kind of got to what i wanted to ask you. is it more blatant, really ugly talk about race and the attitudes have changed and gotten worse or that people are just more open about it? >> i think they're more open, comfortable. it

with us now is congresswoman stacey plaskett. given your role on the impeachment trial, what is it like seeing republicans continue the push with the lies that led to the capitol attack and tried to re-write what happened on january 6th? as part of the ongoing support for this former president? >> it's enraging to hear this knowing the overwhelming evidence that not only was the president involved in this but the president incited individuals who supported him, stoked them, organized them over a protracted period of time to attack our democracy. those were individuals who were there and but for the support of the capitol police and law enforcement would have been seriously injured, some potentially killed if the president had had his way. and the fact that they would continue to perpetrate his lie and support him is not only infuriating because it's a lie but makes it difficult to work with individuals who are so spineless that they would continue to follow an individual who would rather have them dead than him lose power. >> you

stacey plaskett not having it, not any of it. >> how dare you, how dare you say that black lives matter, black people do not understand old-fashioned families. despite some of the issues, some of the things that you have put forward that i've heard out of your mouth in the oversight committee, in your own district, we have been able to keep our families alive for over 400 years and the assault on our families to not have black lives or not even have black families. how dare you say that we are not interested in families, in the black community. that is outrageous. >> it is outrageous. and again, if i have to say this every single night of my life while i'm here, i will. you need to know the history of this country. do you know how many black families were separated during slavery? i had my ancestry done twice. it is so hard to even find records that go back even two generations sometimes because, what? the intentional separation of black families. and no record. you know why? they were considered property. god, oh! it just angers me sometimes that people can be so ignorant. and then the

democratic house delegate stacey plaskett who served as one of the house impeachment managers last monthent trump's senate trial. delegate plaskett i just said it, you know what happened that day maybe better than anyone else i know. given that, what's left? what do you want to hear from director wray? >> i think we want to understand what importance our law enforcement, particularly our federal law enforcement, gave to the planning of this attack. what information they knew. i'd like to find out how much of the fbi had information about the president, the former president's involvement in this, president trump. i'd also, you know, ask the basic questions of what did you know, when did you know it and who did you tell when you found it out? and what were your next steps in dealing with it? >> director wray has vowed to hold these capitol rioters accountable. so far prosecutors have charged more than 300 people. what does accountability look like you to? >> accountability looks like not just the rioters having the full force of the law brought to bear against them, but also those individu
