talk show host jason rantz obtained school district emails. here is what they reveal. ttle not sweep homeless encampments from schools. rantz took pictures of trash and syringes on the ground around the camps. highlighting the dangerous conditions. parents have been calling on the school district for months to have the tents removed from their locations near an elementary school and a middle school. so far nothing has been done. the city is refusing to get involved saying it is not their jurisdiction. joining me now jason rantz. thank you for being on the program. so if it's not the city's jurisdiction, whose is it? >> well, it's supposedly up to the seattle public school district. that's part of the problem as you mentioned. the school board is working behind the scenes and publicly saying we do not support any removal of any of the encampments whether they're on campus or adjacent to campus. i found some of these emails that were sent to me between board president hanson and director dewolf flatly saying we would like some assistance in dealing with this but we don't

jason rantz joins me, greater talk show host in seattle. streets. quick thought on all of the response that is happening on the ground there? >> it sounds like they say they're prepared and certainly from a staffing perspective that appears to be the case. you are only as prepared as you are willing to use the law enforcement that you have on the ground. we have seen from the last year a reticence from individual mayors and counselors and police chiefs to use any sort of force when they are met with this rioting. if you don't use that overwhelming force to stop it, it gets worse. when you use force you have voices out there who are fanning the flames like maxine waters who will say this is the militarization and the over policing of neighborhoods. police are costs in difficult positions. you need leaders to stand up and i hope they do that in minneapolis and frankly across the country. >> harris: may be maxine waters should stay home. detroit police chief says the congresswomen, rashida tlaib who you just mentioned should resign after calli

jason rantz, seattle radio talk show host is with me now. jason, i turn to you as times like this. you have seen this play out on the ground in your city. you've been in those crowds. your first thoughts about what is unfolding in that suburb of brooklyn center, minnesota. >> my first thoughts were anger and disgust that we're seeing yet again the so-called summer of love but happening earlier. it is going to result in more deaths and more anger and angst and congresswoman tlaib is making it worse. i can't help but compare the images we're now seeing to what we saw moments ago with officer billy evans. you have on the one hand democrats coming together and i'm grateful they are to praise police. you also have people like tlaib and other defund politicians who are partisans who define their outrage by the dead black bodies that they use as props to forward a radical agenda to defund the police. billy evans lost his life protecting people regardless of their race or their religion or their gender because that's what he signed up to do. it is undoubtedly true that officers make mistak

. >> john: jason rantz joins us now from seattle.f portland, the first ten weeks of this year, it was 26 in all of 2018 which was the last year before that defund the police movement started going in earnest. is it a logical conclusion that if you take money away from police forces then crime will go up? >> they specifically got rid of the gun violence reduction team and then gun violence skyrocketed. there's clearly a correlation between these things and it goes beyond the defunding of the police departments. we also now have a culture that is actively attacking policing in a general sense. you decide against in large part people that are committing these crimes, this is the end result. we are no longer punishing people who are breaking the law. we are going incredibly light on repeat offenders and then we pretended to be shocked that they continue to be repeat offenders. >> john: it you probably heard mark meredith report where he talked about what was going on in maryland, where the legislature is looking at repealing the law enfo

jason, host of the jason rantz show on k tt h. jason, i see you often on other programs here. pleasure now to host you. you heard from vernon the nature of what happens to people of color who do not conform. what is your take on this in your life? >> it's minorities of any kind. racial, gender, religious. we are all defined by the left as props to signal their own virtue. on gay and jewish. they love the fact -- >> tammy: a double whammy they are. >> in fairness, are no longer considered minorities by the democrats because we have too much power and influence, which of course plays into anti-semitic stereotypes. but the second that they find out you are conservative come all the sudden you don't belong. you are not gay enough. you are not jewish enough. you are not asian enough. this is a common theme against the left because they don't merely view you all as props. they want to you to forward an ideological agenda. and for them to have that kind of power, they have to convince everyone that if you identify as gay, jewish, black or asian, you have to owe us. everything is owed

so let's address the unrest in the pacific northwest with seattle talk radio host jason rantz.et's talk about this. if you got 66 police officers who have left seattle pd so far this year and the number is expected to go up to 100. can you put this in perspective for us? historically, how big of an exodus is this and how does it stack up? >> it's huge. last year was a historic high for the spd losing these officers at about 193. going into the end of may we will get up to 300. this all started around the time with the defund movement. for a while the spd had some staffing issues because the city, and hating cops has become a sport coming from both the seattle city council but also the activist community. but here's the most concerning part. seattle has the lowest number of deployable officers since at least the 1980s. obviously, the population has considerably junked since then. and we are experiencing some significant surges in crime. we just broke a 26 year record of homicides here. >> since you brought that up i would love to pop up this graphic to talk about exactly that. y
