the hfpa now pledging reforms including diversifying the membership. jackie, it took this.nteresting to me that nbc made the decision to not air it at all. shouldn't part of this be about redemption, about reform, about changing your ways, adding black members, addressing some of these issues. to not air the show, i'm not necessarily sure is the right reaction completely to this but maybe that's what it took to get those reforms to come to be. i don't know. maria: yeah. amazing that tom cruise is returning the awards, adam. adam: well, what's really astounding to me, what are the odds that they decided to drop covering it after ratings plummeted 63% to record lows and though it's certainly problem mattic that there's not an african-american on the board, let's remember that diversity isn't limited to race. how many conservatives do they have on the board. how many libertarians. it's abnoxious when -- obnoxious when hollywood tries to define all of us by our skin color. maria: i think that's such an important point. when we come back, new york city mayoral candidate ray mcgw
