wildfire in monterey county has grown out to more than 2000 acres that fires burning between big sarin carmel in the los padres. national forest, the willow fun started late thursday night. the u. s forest service says it has forced the evacuation of dozens of homes in remote remote areas of moderate county. so far, there are no reports of any injuries and no homes have burned, but the fire is burning very close to the tassajara zen center monastery, the president of the center says they are no stranger to wildfires, and they are prepared. the last big fire that actually went into the valley was in 2000 and eight. we were less prepared then. since then, we've been preparing thoroughly. we had another big fire, as you might remember, in 2000 and 16, and last year the donor fire, right? this is getting, um, too frequent smoke from this fire, by the way, may be visible here in the bay area starting tonight. the cause of the fire is still under investigation. and that is some wild weather sweeping parts of the country tonight from sweltering heat to tropical storms. bill manoukian has more now fr
