this is coolidge corner roughly 100 years ago and what it looked like. in many ways, it does not look a lot different today, certainly a lot busier. but you see all of the old buildings in the center there, they are still there today with different shops of course. this was one of the reasons why the family moved to brookline. for a quieter setting where they could raise their family, but also having close access to shopping opportunities into that street car system where the family could ride back into boston to visit their family and friends. mrs. kennedy was often very fond of bringing the children to historic sites and really teaching them about massachusetts history. this is a picture of the second home that the kennedys owned. it is a -- at 51 abbotsford road. it's just a few blocks away from the birthplace. so the kennedys would live in this home from 1920 to 1927. it is where bobby, patricia and eunice were all born. you can see it is a big much -- a much bigger house. they were becoming wealthier. they also had an expanding family. so that is on
