joining us, georgia domestic state lawmaker park cannon. thank you so much for joining us. k in march for simply knocking on the door of the room where the georgia governor brian kemp was signing a restrictive new voting bill into law. since that moment a few months ago, how much has actually changed in the fight for voting rights? >> unfortunately, what has changed has been that there have been over 397 more bills across the country doing the same thing. 94 of those are actually limiting the court's powers. here in georgia we have lawsuits against senate bill 202. so seeing these bills come through is quite damaging to our effect right now. instead of focusing on that, though, we're getting real life stories from voters who voted last week in an election here in georgia. >> the voting rights compromise floated by senator joe manchin of west virginia actually got a major boost from your fellow georgian stacey abrams this week. do you support it as well. >> i heard that stacey abrams supports it. i also heard that my senator raphael warnock supports it. as a state legislator

in the case of states like georgia, both. now republicans in your state, some of whom visited the arizona audit, may be attempting to replicate what they saw there. in your state's case, there are some gop leaders basically saying, enough is enough. not here. what's your take on this, sir? >> we really have become the epicenter now here in pennsylvania. it's a continuation of the work they have been trying to do over the past year. remember, just prior to the election, there were 19 different lawsuits that were filed to make it harder for people to vote. we beat back every single one of them. after the votes were cast, there were more than 20 lawsuits filed to make it harder for certain people's votes to count. now what you are seeing is a continuation of that effort to try to make it harder for people to access the polls and to go back and relitigate an election that was safe and secure here in pennsylvania that joe biden won and donald trump lost. let's be very clear. let's speak some truth here. they're not trying to make i

last night, we learned that the effort to quote, audit the election results in the state of georgia, that effort is getting turned back by a state court in georgia. it looks like the trump supporters fantasy of doing to the presidential vote in georgia what they're doing to weigh in arizona, looks like that will not happen tight thanks to judges ruling, yesterday. today, we've learned that the u.s. justice department is suing the state of georgia for voting restrictions that republicans passed into law in that state on the basis of all the supposed fraud that trump has been proclaiming happened in that state, in that election, which he lost. that justice department decision to sue georgia over that law is a huge deal. we're gonna have more on that coming up in a couple of minutes on the show. but like i said, take these things together. right? put these things together as bricks in the same wall. things are not going well in trump world right now. in a way that is, i think, worse than anything since the first week in january. i mean, from the trump campaign criminal bribery trial in t
