jose cisneros and supervisor mandelman.y years and i remember when i first took this job and he listened to my pitch and he said, what do you need? and he's always been there. he is getting us money this year for the archives again. but he got it. why do we need a large museum? why is this not enough? we don't have enough space in here when we put an exhibit like the wonderful baker exhibit in the hall and do everything else in the main gallery. the gilbert baker exhibit is wonderful and he was an artist and a man who created so much in san francisco. but when people where is the lesbian exhibit. and that doesn't matter where. and i'm sorry, we don't have enough space to do all this. there is a reason we're not growing for the sake of growth. we're growing to represent who we are. we have to tell our stories. when gilbert baker during the year that harvey milk was supervisor and harvey went to gilbert and said we need a new symbol. we need something that is more affirming and representative of who we are as a community and

and i also want to take this opportunity to thank our treasurer, josÉ cisneros, who is here with us today in the process of doing all of this work there were a number of initiatives that we put forward in order to provide a number of guaranteed income projects, a number of investments and changes that we had to make. and his office worked so hard on equity challenges that exist in this city and providing resources to residents at a time when there was so much uncertainty and challenges with people's income. and i want to thank the director of the port, thank you so much to elaine forbes for not only the work she did as the port director, but as a disaster service worker, so many city employees stepped up and provided additional management support and resources. everyone here really played an incredible role and though joaquin torres is our assessor/recorder now, when he was running the office of workforce development, kate is our new director -- but whether he was running that department the -- when he was running that department the work to get resources to small businesses was absolutel
