darren, let's start with you.ll about the incoming heat we have been talking about. >>> th my focus. i want to point going to change temperature wise. we'll start in the tri valley. this is one of the areas that will feel this change most significantly. that's 680 in the distance. you would have no clue stepping outside that we were in for big changes, temperatures around 60 which is pretty much what we have been doing and we have a healthy marine layer. let me show you what is about to happen. using inland valleys, tri valley, diablo valley, think of the inland valleys, average high would be 88. we were pretty much there yesterday. yesterday it was 86. we have been doing that for a while. you have been there for the last week and a half solid. receipts see how this changes. look at the line. by today's daytime high it's already 97. that's an 11-degree warm up from yesterday to today. then we will keep it going. daytime highs will peak saturday. that's when this heat wave will top out. sunday looks rough as well b

darren peck, we always ask, can we see the fireworks shows, it's very important for >> that's the catch, a pattern over the last four days for the marine layer, it is been pretty intense in the overnight hours in the morning. i do see a change in the long- range forecast, by the end of the 7-day i do not see a change by sunday. bottom line, here's the forecast for the fourth of july during the day. backyard, picnic, barbecue, anyone, anything during the day a wonderful day, temperatures fantastic. let's not overlook that. looking out with temperatures for the fourth of july, bay area why that looks great. looking ahead to 9:00 p.m. evening wednesday. this is the most high- resolution forecast, you cannot get too specific over the marine layer several days out but going by the fact there is no reason to believe the pattern will change much, this is likely what it will be. it will be cloudy over the city, the main fireworks display will happen along the waterfront by 9:00 p.m. it could be just pretty colors through the clouds. >> will take what we can get, thank you tish mack despite the

darren, do you have any good news? >>> on the weather front i can. although it will be hot inland it shouldn't be worse than yesterday. if you liked yesterday, today is a carbon copy. we are not really going to change things a lot. a live look, plenty clouds obscuring our view of the bay bridge at this point. let's get a couple other views on here. we'll start at the east bay looking down 880 where you've got the deck of clouds. san jose you would have clouds to start and you will warm up and get a beautiful afternoon. into late morning the clouds will be gone. current temperatures range from 55 in santa rosa and petaluma to the mid 60s for the inland valleys of east bay. you see where the clouds are and where they aren't. they're pretty much just confined to immediate bay this morning. there is that batch we were looking at over the bridge. we see mid level clouds in and around the bay. clouds melt back into the late morning and it will be more sunshine again today than anything else. you may notice high clouds. we will watch one more appearance as

first meteorologist darren peck is in for mary lee. it's going to be a scorcher. >> one look over the city today and you can see what a heat wave looks like in the bay area. for the first time in weeks, no clouds from the marine layer. you can see top of the sales force tower and we can use the camera to take the views today. as far as the head start we've gotten, livermore at 68 is about 12 degrees where you were yesterday at this time. that is a fast head start. if we look at the daytime highs in general, we are going to call it 104 for inland valleys of east bay but i will have everybody's forecast high in the complete forecast in a bit. i am just giving you the overview. when we look at the map that highlights where excessive heat warning is, we spotlight area of greatest concern and it is over here. inland valleys of contra costa and alameda county and specifically in here as well. concord will be one of the hotter locations which is why we've got justin andrews live. i know the focus will be the cooling centers and you will fill
