i want to thank jennifer friedenbach as well as shanell williams, julie leadbetter and julia d'antonio for their service on the our city our home oversight committee. i want to thank all of them for reapplying as well as randall sloan for his application for seat 6. why don't we briefly hear from the applicants and i will start with ms. friedenbach if she is available. i know she's on a compressed time frame this morning. ms. friedenbach? if you are available? okay, ms. friedenbach is not available yet. we'll go to shanell williams. the floor is yours. trustee williams, i don't know what the right -- i never figured that out. >> that's fine. good morning chair peskin and supervisors mandelman and khan. chan. i have been so delighted to served as a our chair. we've done some remarkable work to move the needle on homelessness here in san francisco. $800 million is allocated in this budget year. it's a phenomenal investment that we're making this issue, unlike anywhere else in the country. we did this with advisement from 800 stakeholders. our committee broke out the work -- they've been

. >> so this is jennifer friedenbach speaking. so just -- so, ben, just kind of following up on member d'antonio's question, if there's things in here that don't pan out -- hopefully we caught something that was eligible, but if there is something that's ineligible, what would be the process? >> yeah. we've concluded what we think is a thorough review, and i think we've worked with some members of the committee, and given the time, we intend to kind of process the reclassification. of course, if new information comes up that leads us to find, on third, fourth, fifth review, that we classified an expense that is not eligible for the fund in the future, we would reverse that, and that has been the case in prior baselines. although the reclass would occur for this fiscal year, our office would continue to make adjustments in future fiscal years if we find things that aren't correct to make sure we're adhering to the voter initiative. does that answer your question, member friedenbach? is. >> yeah, thank you. >> of course. >> all righ

. >> sy: however, longtime homeless advocate, jennifer friedenbach cautions that not all boards are astive. >> there's advisory boards where you will have like one or two unhoused people and then they get tokenized and never listened to in the group. and so you really have to have a deep connection to decision making, real power. even before the formal advisor board was formed we canvassed about 300 people who are experiencing homelessness and asked them, what are your priorities. it's bringing in that expertise. >> we have that know-how that we would like to impart on the rest of our community. our needs are relatively simple in that we just want to be housed and a door that locks. in a shelter suation, having your privacy is next to impossible. >> sy: and that input is what drove forward the construction of the tahanan building-- 145 units dedicated solely for the homeless population downtown. >> we've tried a really innovative approach. we're using modular construction and so that has cut both the time and the cost significantly. >> sy: the goal is to have the entire project finishe

we are sitting down with jennifer friedenbach. and we are sitting down them in the new fiscal year. we have some community members on our team, and we're absolutely open to more conversations on that. we are also happy to come back to the board of supervisors with a quarterly report and have a performance audit done by the b.l.a. we, ourselves, internally, are analyzing our own data thus far, and i think we're learning a lot about the street crisis response team and ems6, and we want to get this right. it is imperative that we get this right, so we're happy to work with you and have conversations with you about this. so we are in agreement with those recommendations. >> yeah, and my reference of community-based -- the hot team, ultimately you already are working with community-based organizations. that was my point. i'm glad to hear you're open to continued conversations with other organizations and jenny friedenbach, and the coalition and others that want a seat at the table and want to be a part of the solution. so i appreciate that. thank you, mr. chair. >> chairman: supervisor r
