>> good afternoon, sasha. thanks to you and jason and the bipartisan policy center for allowing me to participate on the panel today. great to be with liz and toby to talk about some of these issues. obviously our industry is at the center of much of what is going on in terms of decarbonization. the electric utility industry -- dominion is electric and natural gas company, state regulated we deliver electricity and natural gas from 7 million homes and businesses from the rocky mountains to our home state of virginia. that business is very much part of this decarbonization narrative that we've been talking about. for us we start with a net zero commitment by 2050. our industry, the electric industry has reduced 40% since 2005 our company has done better than that, 50% since 2005. we expect to be there by 2050. that's going to take a substantial amount of investment, starting with an increased investment in renewables. we are building the largest wind farm off the coast of virginia beach, a 2.6 gigawatt project

i'm sasha almarany and i was on the association transportation and planning committee and while i do like the idea of changing our new rpp area and changing the boundaries, i do not like the payer permit solution because it only adds more signs and more street furniture, to the sidewalk. our sidewalks are already rather small. also the online survey dealt with the entire curb management plan and after all of this we started talking about the overall curb management plan and now all we're doing is doing permits. i would like to see it done as one holistic piece. because what happens is when we start taking parking spaces away from other things, we need to be able to say, look, you're getting something else back in terms of parking. i'm not only a cyclist but i'm also have been parking on the street the last year and i would like to say it's not that hard to park on the street but i feel like the payer permit is going to make it harder especially with the symphony and opera coming in that's when it's always hardest to park on the street. while it's a good start, i feel like we need to
