let's bring in the whiz, harry enten. what's the answer? >> yeah, it helps a little bit, certainly the things you do voluntarily the fda approval certainly helps. if you look at the list of the kaiser family foundation asking, the fda giving approval that's a top one. 30% more likely to get the vaccine. that's higher than a chance to win a million dollars, access to a mobile clinic or free child care. that's one of the best things on there. he's the thing about the full fda approval. what it does is gets those people who are thinking about getting the vaccination much more likely to get it. if you wanted to vax as soon as possible, 79% say it's more likely to get the vaccination. 49% say they'll wait and see how it works of the even 30% who said they'd only get it if forced makes them more likely. so it's really about pushing those people over the edge thinking of getting it to actually get the vaccine. >> so you think it takes a carrot and stick. >> that's exactly right. if we were to team this up with a vaccine mandate, what do we do? num

ha harry enten the wizard of odds in the covid-command center with some insight.ot red and blue. it's vaccinated and unvaccinated. prove it. >> look. if you look at the trump states, you look at the biden states, that is the adult population because those are the people who can actually vote. look at this. 56% of adults in the states that trump won in 2020 are fully vaccinated. 66% of the adults in the states biden won in 2020 are vaccinated. you look at the different regions. northeast, west, midwest, south. a majority of adults in all of those regions are vaccinated. so you know, oftentimes, we play up the red versus the blue or the south versus the northeast. the actual shifts between those regions are actually, fairly minimal. what we have in each of those regions are people who are fully vaccinated and people who are unvaccinated and that really is the divide in this country, right now. >> telling you, that's going to be the demographic to watch in the midterms and next-presidential election. forget about red and blue. forget about the binary of democrat and

cnn senior data reporter harry enten is here now.specially in schools. is it as divisive as we think? >> i don't think it's as divisive as people think. we see massive support for mask mandates. look at this, a new poll out yesterday showed us 69% of americans said they support mask mandates in their school district. even among republicans it was still up to 44%. and here's the key thing, right? if you look at a state like florida, ron desantis has been threatening to withhold funding from districts. look at that, just 22% support the idea of withholding funding. it has no support, even from republicans it's just 30%. >> and more employers are also requiring vaccines to work. what insights do you have for us there? >> well, this to me is interesting because some of the polling early on suggested that vaccine mandates for employers was not that popular. but in fact what we see is the trend line is going upward. look at this, a poll that was just out yesterday. 55% of employers say that they support the idea of vaccinations to work at
