i see the japantown virtual background there behind you. hi janet. on to help promote the komachi street there. well, you know we've seen with so many of the festivals and events here in the bay area. the pandemic has really hit hard. some places having to go virtual last year because of the pandemic, so how are you? restarting the knee hamachi street fair. and what can people expect? that might be different about this year. well when governor newsom announced the full reopening, and of course, our great mayor also, you know, opened up san francisco, the hamachi stupid committee and board started meeting and that was, i think, right around the beginning of june. and then within two months, we started planning on what we can do to bring back. the dramatist referred this year. so we thought, okay, we can't do a big fallout street fair, but maybe we can start. um, kind of, you know, slowly coming into it by doing some hat at the peace plaza called our community, our pride and then following up on the 31st. we had another pop up below her by the bay and

i think it's extremely important for japantown because we're at that pivotal time where hands need to be changed and the torch needs to be passed over. i think i want to say to our community leaders, remember when you were at that point, looking at your community mentors, saying you wanted to get involved in your community. the reason why i got involved in my community was because i had good mentors. my j-town people out there, take a step back, look at what you're doing, and really prepare to pass that torch because a lot of young people are ready and waiting for it, right?
