she first heard about, and she heard about the union as a student, and while she was a student at ucla, and she was active in the chicano movement and ceasar chavez came to speak at her university, and she was inspired by his words and how the actions matched his spiritual beliefs. and so at the end of his speech, she approached him and offered her help for the union, and he invited her to be one of the artists for the union. she served for many decades and she became very close to dolores. and they are very, very close friends. dolores is very much a mentor to her, and almost like a second mother, and in the 1990s, she wanted to create an image of dolores that would create your mind when it comes to your mind or when you hear it. one of the images that simply capture the personality of someone, and she came up with this wonderful portrait which is very much a puff palette of pink and it is the pin there for dolores during one of the strikes and her name above which is interesting. you know, because, among many of the participants of the farm workers' movement, when you are interviewin

i was teaching history at ucla and had a choice of authoring a seminar of my own. i had as reading a compendium of lincoln's words, and when it came to the second inaugural was very much struck by it but a wanted to know what was the antecedent of this? i learned there was a document at brown university, lincoln's young secretary have titled it, lincoln didn't type entities, called the meditation on the divine will. so i traveled from southern california to brown university to hold a solo piece of blue lined paper in my hands. i had no idea at the time that there were so many, many, many notes and i've came to the conclusion that most people didn't know those. some of these are familiar, some are in the biographies of lincoln but i thought we need to see lincoln hall, and when i contacted daniel worthington who is the editor of the lincoln papers that are in springfield he said we believe there's 111 of these notes that have survived. i'm sure lincoln wrote hundreds of them are 111 have survived. i wanted a sense to put before people the private lincoln behind the
