mgm has had this partnership with entain.d to accelerate nicely they are poised to be number two in sports betting in the united states there had been an offer back in january to buy out entain. they had to wait six months. that would be june there was a thought that mgm would take another shiites at it -- shot at it but draftkings came out of the blue this morning. it's not clear what their strategy is for it >> how do you play out the strategy if you think mgm will not let this go and happen and will make a higher bid and likely get entain in the bend. >> they could come over the top. we did speak with mgm today and they are not saying a ton other than they will sit down with the parties involved and see what makes the most sense with shareholders scenario one is that mgm has the right, as you pointed out in your opening, to buy out the other half of bet mgm. the question around that, melissa, is what technology and what ip comes along with that other half of the gb or does the technology go with the parent company, entain.

as i tried to explain in my reporting, there had been trouble -- would mgm come back here no, that'sot what's going to happen they're veg focused on their partnership here in the united states called bet mgm. as i said yesterday, in one of my final reports on this later in the day, they want to be in a position to potentially take control there, both economically and from a governance perspective. that's what they're salivating over they consent rights, they say, in terms of really being ability to block any potential buyer of entain, but they'll negotiate with draftkings. the question is how much it's going to cost everybody? mgm, how much will it cost them to buy what they don't own, but that's the key in one way here, and obviously draftkings is negotiating with entain in terms of a deal that entain will accept >> i'm sure people are saying they're talking, obviously the way it works in europe, you have taught me, it's entain that has to do the talking. >> and shareholders can eventually do the talking. they have an official offer by the 19th much october. it's different draftking
