nintendo was somewhat expected.f manufacturing was quite a surprise. because the previous reviews have resulted in some unexpected changes before, people were see ing nintendo brought the inclusion of all these three names as a positive move. that not all people had expected. david: talk to us about timing. we are expecting that nintendo angles. why change the index now? what kind of impact might we expect from these change -- this change moving forward? >> the key thing that happened earlier this year was that the nikkei made a revision to the methodology. in how the nikkei average is calculated. the methodology of the nikkei 225 makes it more prone to while pricing in stocks with higher prices, like nintendo. that's changed now with this revision. this year, a lot of people were saying stocks like nintendo, with a high share price, could be included. now that it's included, alongside with keyence and murata, it is having a positive impact on overall sentiment. and we have a lot of other factors, like the political

reporter: like you said, we have nintendo included the strand. and nintendo was somewhat expected. inclusion of the other two were less expected but overall investors are welcoming the change. like you said, these are big companies with big market cap and these are very popular rand wise, as well. so inclusion is being looked at as a positive move by the nikkei and you can see the markets responding positively to the changes today. haslinda: you have to wonder about the timing of the change. why now? reporter: right. the key thing that happened earlier this year was the company nikkei inc., which owns the index, revised and methodology and how the nikkei 225 is calculated. like the dow jones industrial average, the nikkei 225 methodology has been criticized because it is price weighted, which means it is much more prone to wild swings in stocks with higher prices, just like nintendo. so when this change happened, a lot of people started saying that this kind of paves the way for stocks like nintendo to join the index. and now we actually have the inclusion of nintendo and to others
