emily han: thanks.oman: and i contacted gregory to say, can i come out and get it because we don't have any of those specimens in the collection. yep, that's xerotricha there. and who's this little guy? emily han: is that a cochlicella barbara? a really teeny, tiny one? vendei: yep, that's a juvenile. so, in february 1f 2016, i came out here, the hans invited me, and we just did a little exploration of their backyard and collected xerotricha conspurcata, so, the species we're talking about, but then also this other species called cochlicella barbara, which also is a first record for los angeles county. and then now, almost two years later, i'm back assessing are those species still here. and they are. we literally are collaborators. like, we have papers together with all of our names on it. so, those are things that-- that collaboration makes this specimen and citizen science and standing in this backyard a really meaningful thing. pauly: this one's gonna go right there. we have the specimens that you s

emily for that report. joining us with a look at axios' hans nichols.on taliban that they commit to the achievement that afghan society has made. >> did you get the sense that president biden cared about the faith of afghan women? >> i don't think so. >> wow, the fate of afghan women had not been good since the fall of kabul. what else did the ambassador say about the afghans reaction to president biden's decision? >> guilt and disappointment. listening to this interview jonathan swan did is tremendous sadness mixed with guilt. she encouraged many afghan women to involve themselves in civil society and join government. she mentioned and suggested that a person has been assassinated. her reactions which the taliban has not tried to reach staff yet and the biden administration won't meet with her according to jonathan. her reaction here is one of just great deal of sadness. we have seen verses of this in the past and changes in the government and the embassy and ambassador here. it's a difficult and diplomatic situation for the biden administration. her f
