. >> so where is our wednesday weather headed let's welcome nbc meteorologist janessa webb good morning. >> reporter: hi, good morning. just getting reports of a severe thunderstorm warning across portions of wichita. so you can see probably for the next 10-to-15 minutes, we'll be dealing with severe weather in that area. this is the leftovers of our winter storm it's about to collide with warmer air and transition into more rain. still the colder air for the pacific north west is still in place. today we're really watching the flash flood concern across central texas into sections of oklahoma we have 12 million people going to be impacted by this torrential rain. some of these totals pick up this afternoon five-to-seven inches up to nine inches in some isolated areas across southern texas all the way to oklahoma. you can see even for the ohio valley dealing with some wet conditions so the front will continue to slide across this area throughout your afternoon. it picks up tomorrow morning just a bit then this front will likely die out as it makes its way across the mississippi valley i

hitting as we speak in the east and wicked weather out west nbc meteorologistjanessa webb is tracking it all janessa, good morning. >> good morning. first, i do want to start with the west coast that pineapple express, it's starting to come to an end but, man, the bay just hasn't seen rainfall like this. it rained for nearly eight hours in that area and now, that storm system is causing some heavy snow cause salt lake. that will continue throughout the afternoon, and then it will start to die down. now, the nor'easter on the other coast. you can see, widespread rain starting to make its way in from philadelphia new york city, all the way into the boston area. the problem is, is that this system will slow down, and it's going to allow prolonged moisture in this area across southern new england all the way into the jersey area so right now, we do have a slight risk for a flash flood threat the problem is that you are going to see rainfall rates an inch per hour in some spots. that could total up to 3 to 5 inches in most areas and that continues all the way into your wednesday. also, another topic i ha
