yes, specifically for the north bay and san francisco peninsula. we're already tracking widespread light, rain. >> right now. throughout most of the bay area coast line drying out for the east bay and south bay. but just to our east. we are looking at rain and snow showers right now. south lake tahoe a little bit drier. but this atmospheric river going to have a warmer core to it because it is not only tapping into a storm, but it is getting subtropical plumes of moisture out of hawaii. and because of that, not really tracking as high of snow totals specifically at the lake level elevations above 8,000 feet could see upwards of 5 feet of snow. but really it's the lower elevations that's going to notice more rain then snow as i fast forward through sunday morning and sunday afternoon even during the evening hours could see pockets of some pretty heavy downpours as the atmospheric river impacts the sierra, but the one thing we need to watch out for gusty winds as well. there is a winter storm warning going to go into effect starting 5 o'clock sunday

so we are seeing light sprinkles up and down upper elevations of the peninsula and then along highway one as well. a couple light sprinkles and upper elevations of marin county as well as light showers along the east bay shoreline north bay. you've quieted down san francisco, you've quieted down heaviest of rain out into the eastern portion of solano county but really aside from this. the heaviest of rainfall has exited. we are going to be looking at light showers hanging on through the day. and of course, we'll keep you updated on the movement there. but we're going to see a midday law in our rainfall staying cloudy staying cool often on light showers. but today is going to be on the lighter side of things as we were talking yesterday. we're starting slow and then we're really ramping things up gradually through this rainfall event. so today is one of her lighter events as expected, you can see outside that we will have these light sprinkles here and there through the afternoon nothing super heavy for the most part, you may see a couple spots of moderate pocket popping up in the east

it keeps going all the way down the peninsula. look at that -- 60 mile an hour gusts on top of mount st. helena. looking at el diablo, 50 mile an hour gusts. we get the strongest winds out ahead, and with the frontal passage. this is going to take us through the next several hours, until we get to 12:00 behind that front in the north bay. the bay area. the wind moves south this afternoon. still some showers into your monday. as we get to about 9:00, heaviest rain in the north bay. you will notice light to moderate rain elsewhere. 1:00, it begins to move. we have another five hours for rain to pick up in the north but. by 3:00, 5:00 we have very heavy rain from the east bay. not even in the southbay yet. he continues to push south through 7:00 tonight. very heavy rain still around 280, down through gilroy. by the early morning hours we will get into more scattered showers. it is an all day event, and still, the ring totals impressive. the forecast model still looking at over four inches in san francisco. up to seven inches in young

as you head down the peninsula woodside los altos hills. some of our areas that are currently looking at some of those light showers mostly stretching up in the upper -levations of the santa cruz mountains. as you can see, as we you move a little bit further into the south bay highway 17 is also wet that resulted in an accident last night. obviously having since cleared out. but with those slick conditions, you know, highway 17. it's a windy route. yeah. just want to take it slower, especially these mountainsides. as for current temperatures right now we're sitting in the 40's and 50's for most areas. couple of upper 30's in the north bay, though, so very much so put on the light puppies this morning. stay cozy and focus on staying dry from wednesday onwards through the rest of the forecast which i'll get to still to come right now. don, thank you for that. all right. let's get a look at the bay traveling from the east bay. >> into the city this morning. a little under 8 minutes we had earlier accident on the eastbound side of the bridge. t

heavier rainfall falling in portions of san francisco down the peninsula up in the marine county, too. this is really the hearts of where we're seeing that line of showers at this very moment. you're look outside at san francisco coit tower right here. can't really see the rain, but it is falling out there quite hour currently and right now we have actually seen a bit of an ar as the core of this heavy rainfall is a little bit further south just south of half moon bay, a widespread area of heavy rain. not to say the rest of us are tapping into it as well, let's focus on the north bay to start from napa down to the lake as well as up to saint helene, a santa rosa to all these areas are looking at areas of light to moderate rainfall right now one oh, one as well as 80 are starting to get wet and getting wet pretty fast. a little bit closer to the coastline. and you're also seeing some pockets of heavy rainfall in the upper elevations right around guerneville about bodega bay just north of point raise itself. marine county definitely in the midst of it. and let's zoom in on the richmond
