chad pergram following all of that. chad, what's going on? >> reporter: good morning, neil.s could go two ways. there was one democratic spokesman who told me they didn't think they could pass the bill, the window had closed, but sometimes big bills need a timeout a delay. passing legislation is often like making wine. you need the right combination of factors to get the wine right. rain at the proper time in the growing cycle, sunlight at the right time, pick the grapes at the right time, and perhaps this bill just was not ready to go. it's kind of like the old commercial starring orson wells, we will sell no wine before its time. but remember, the democrats took years to pass health care reform, and finally the legislative weather worked out. they approved obamacare in 2010, but that was a struggling. however, this bill -- a struggle. this bill is more complex. it's climate policy, it's taxation, it's a big bill against the backdrop of inflation. democrats are trying to do ambitious things with narrow majorities. now, the thing to watch for over the coming weeks is democra
