thank you, commissioner miguel bustos and everyone present.finitely great to be -- to have been selected for this opportunity. san francisco left a great impression on me when i first saw it as a 18-year-old visitor and so it's a great return and a great satisfaction to be able to give back to this project. you know, upon learning of the opportunity being presented to the public, i researched the site and was very happy to hear how there were documented registries of wildlife, namely grizzly bears that inhabited that area and a couple of them became a bit of local celebrities in the 1850s by way of having made their way from the creek, mission creek all the way into mission [inaudible]. spent a couple of nights at mission to learn. but anyway, we all know the presence of the grizzly [inaudible] part of the flag and the state seal. at the same time, these large animals are no longer inhabiting our state because of changes that were down to the environment. so i though that bringing their likeness into the downtown area and not so much as the th

just last week, president biden signed into law my bill with representative cheri bustos, to ban forced arbitration in cases of sexual harassment and sexual assault. that will protect the right of 60 million workers to a fair day in work, and that's just the people that are subject to employment contracts. on top of that, it will apply and it will apply retroactively to all of the contracts around sexual assault and sexual harassment. that is huge progress. and what's good enough in cases of sexual assault and sexual harassment, and that bill passed in a bipartisan way, bicamerally, is good enough for all workers. so it's time to take the next step by passing this bill to expand protections to have a fair day in court. if somebody wants arbitration, it doesn't stop that route but it does say, you can't be forced only into this and into denying your day in court. now, let's also be clear that the fair act protects unions. it protects essential bargaining power and greating freedoms for nonunionized workers. my colleagues on the other side of the aisle introduced an amendment to undermine
