we will talk to mark mobius of mobius capital.s is bloomberg. ♪ kailey: we are one hour into the u.s. trading session. abigail doolittle is tracking the moves. it has been a volatile meet and it does not look like the ending will be different. abigail: thank goodness it is friday. what a week indeed. this is an andra day chart -- intraday chart that goes on going back to 6:00 p.m. last night. you can see futures for a while doing nothing and then we have the russian president vladimir putin make what seems to be positive comments about the possibility of some sort of compromise or solution around the russian-ukraine war. the s&p 500 up 1.5%. now up fractionally. if the s&p 500 can get back to those higher levels, we could see a turnaround on the week. this is interesting. we are so interested in the valley. this is the selloff. futures down 1.5%. we have the vix down. we have crude down from of the worst week since november of last year. we also have a big selloff in bonds. it looks like the s&p 500 could see a near-term bounds as

as mark mobius said in the previous comments, palladium is up over 100%.here will not be a single analyst reflecting any of these commodity increases in their forecasts. so i think at the moment, the stocks look cheap on long-term forecasts. on stock forecasts, these look crazy cheap. what we have seen with rio tinto is they will be giving money back. there's not much, and i think that is an important here. kailey: how does that compare with other commodities related to equities? can you say the same about energy stocks? alan: absolutely, yes. we run our forecast models of $75 oil. clearly, if we start putting in $110 oil on the basis that we are looking to replace russian energy, that will not happen overnight. that will take many years to facilitate, and that means the oil price is probably going to remain higher for longer. analysts will have to start moving up there forecast, which means the free cash flow yield on oil, which at the moment is well in excess of plunder percent, we'll just go up from here. so it feels that there is still plenty to run in

also another spike in oil prices so should you trust to rally joining us, mark mobius and cnbc's mike santoli. mark, i'll start with you on global stocks. how are you feeling? it's not like the fed said that it wasn't going to be raising interest rates that's been a headwind it's not like we have resolution when it comes to ukraine should you buy stocks? >> my thinking is that definitely we're going to see higher and higher rates. i expect to see rates in america go up to 6% or 7%. but that doesn't mean the stock market has to go down. as you know, if you look at the history of interest rates and stock market, there's not much correlation, and anybody who wants to protect themselves against this inflation must hold stocks they must hold companies that are able to adjust their prices to inflation and it's interesting if you look at the global picture, a very mixed picture, you see countries in latin america up or at least sideways movement, and even in asia, the same thing despite the fact that china has gone down dramatically, other markets around the world are not doing too badly. >>
