there was an evacuation warning for the town of port costa, a town of 200 people. a lot of people here decided to stay. then we did see a few that decided to leave. they were staged in the highway 4 area. we want to show you aerials we got of the fire earlier today. this fire started in that recreation area. right now, it's about a mile away from any of the homes. firefighters were telling me that they were really concerned about the erratic fire behavior when they arrived on scene. there was quite a bit of wind and embers blowing west towards the town of crock et. firefighters called it a second alarm fire. that's when resources came in from all over the region. even though there was another fire in mpleasanton. they had help from cal fire, which sent air resources right away. that was the biggest help of all, considering the challenges the firefighters had to face on the ground. >> hilly area. a lot of heavy brush, vegetation, trees. along with some large eucalyptus groves above the town. along with the railroad track that passes through with freight and amtrak.
