bureau, bob cusack, always great to have you.to follow that both states have been at each other throats over the past year. florida taking a bow for wooing jobs from new york. new york stated it is overdone. new york remains the big draw, not florida. how do you see this coming out? >> i think it is an interesting night. i love the match chip maloney versus nadler. it has gotten nasty between the two of them. desantis get general election matchup, charlie crist, former governor, turned republican, turned democrat, independent. that is see how much democrats invest in the race not to beat desantis. i think he will be hard to beat, so much money, huge war chest, but lessen the margin, ding him a little bit because he is weakened. democrats fear trump in 2024. they also fear desantis. neil: i'm wondering if you're desantis, you want to rack up a big bin it is still tough. florida, i you know this far better than i become more red last couple of elections but it is still close to evenly divided. i wonder is the pressure hon desantis

the editor-in-chief of "the hill," bob cusack, on what this raid means for republicans and their chancestrump's 2024 prospects. bob, great to see you. first, just want to get your 1000-foot view on the raid that happened. many people are saying this is just broad, broad overreach. it is an abuse of power. it is targeting the other side as the senator mentioned there. my guess the head of the fbi, doj, president will not hold a presser to answer questions about this but anything's possible, your thoughts? >> i do think will be a tough spot for the government because they don't usually talk about investigations but at same time they are getting beat up. i think they have to show some type of transparency. i don't think they want to follow the pattern of james comey years ago in the midst of the 2016 election, in hindsight did not look so great. even congressman like peter meijer who recently lost to a trump-backed challenger to a primary, a republican, there needs to be more transparency here. listen if you're going after a former president, you better have the goods. if they don't they're

bob cusack with us now "the hill" editor-in-chief. also pays off in the polls and that more people getting this will be inclined to vote maybe robustly, enthusiastically for democrats but we're hearing from good many not part of this who might go to the polls as well and vote against democrats. how do you see this cutting? >> neil, i think this is very tricky for the white house and that's why president biden took so long to decide what he was going to do. he was under tremendous pressure to do something on student loans and as republicans, some democrats, those even running for office are suggesting this is not the way to go, this is not fair. what about the high cost of college, have you addressed that at all? then going forward. what if they take out a loan in couple years? right now the plan does not include them. so the pressure from the left is going to continue and this has gotten a really mixed response. if you think about it, initially, candidates would say, that is great, it will get people out there, others are saying wait
