i'm major garrett in for norah. tonight, new details from the partially redacted affidavit used to authorize the f.b.i. search of former president donald trump's florida home. one of the significant concerns, according to the affidavit, was that no space at trump's mar-a-lago home was authorized for the storage of classified material. investigators using distinctly bureaucratic language said the records were "unfolderred" and intermixed with other records and otherwise unproperly identified. now, as expected, this affidavit was heavily redacted with just 37% of the pages have no redactions. 34% of the pages were partially redacted, while 29% of this affidavit was totally redacted. in other words, completely blacked out. the affidavit argues a search of mar-a-lago was necessary due to the highly sensitive material found in boxes recovered by the national archives back in january. we have a lot of news to get to, and cbs' robert costa will start us off from west palm beach, florida. robert, good evening. >> reporter:

i'm major garrett in for norah. we begin tonight with a resounding victory for abortion rights in kansas, where voters there rejected a ballot measure that would have eliminated state constitutional protections for the procedure. voters turned out in droves with numbers on par with a general election. at the white house, president biden said republicans "don't have a clue about the power of american women. last night in kansas, they found out. the president also signed an executive order aimed at making it easier for women seeking abortions to travel between states to obtain care. election results from five states showed former president trump remains highly flcialg in the republican party, with several 2020 election deniers winning. cbs' ed o'keefe will have more on that part political story in just a moment. but cbs' caitlin huey-burns will start us off from kansas. caitlin, good evening. >> reporter: good evening, major. those results surprised many on the ground here in kansas, because it's a conservative state.

garrett watson is here to take your questions on this inflation reduction act. again on the energy, tax credits for buying electric and hydrogen vehicles and making energy efficient home improvements. tell us the impact of it. guest: the inflation reduction act provides a little over $50 billion in tax credits for renewable and green energy of production of the energy and investing in more energy invested -- energy efficient homes and cars. as well as everyday consumers. they want to follow well-known -- 7500 dollars for cars that are electric or pop plug-in hybrid that is going to be a big one. the other thing i did was a lot of these credits expire every year. there is a lot of uncertainty for consumers and firms trying to invest. most of them extend through 2031 or 2032. the -- there is stability there. after 20 to five a lot of this is mark technology neutral design which means incentivizing any given particular technology like solar or wind. you want to incentivize production. so, that's going to be a shift there. the trade-off is there are not a lot of per
