[laughter] >> thank you, mark. what are you reading and what are some of your favorite? >> i want to say thank you, mar k. part of the project of black writers is to make space for the next generation. make space for readers and writers. certainly he is doing that with the bookstore. to have this space available is also part of the ongoing progress. recently i did a conversation and i wrote -- read her wonderful book. >> south of america. >> it's an amazing book. i was thanking her for weaving haiti in. the weaving of haiti in the south and black america. i am reading a book -- i will be giving a conversation with another haitian writer. that is what i'm reading right now. a book about the earthquake. her first novel was, "in my father's house." i read very slowly. i am not reading as much as dr. hill. [laughter] >> how about you, morgan? >> everything finished -- i recently finished a book called "son elsewhere." is talking about growing up in africa and moving to canada. he goes into social history and topography
