situation, you got a massive category 4 storm that you compare charlie to this, this is way, way, way bigger than charlie. it was as strong as charliein but charlie was much smaller. so this is a big one. i think we all know there is going to be major, major impacts. we are not only are there 42,000 linemen there positioned across the strait ofate of florida, wh safe, those personnel will go in to resume power that's very, very important. in terms of rescue efforts, there is robust efforts in each of these counties. some are major counties like lee county, collier county, they have great response teams. the state of florida, you know, we are providing a lot of support that is staged and ready to go. we have almost 250 aircraft, more than 1600 high water vehicles and more than 300 boats of all drafts and sizes including 250 already stationed in the major impacted areas and nearly 50 that are staged and immediately ready to come in. so with water this high, you know, these operations may need to be water born operations. now, there are somewhere you're going to need to use the water to get to barrier islands anyways. so look at collie

charlie dent. charlie, as a former republican congressman, what do you make of this strategy by governor desantis for example, do you think it will work with gop voters? >> well, wolf, i served on homeland security committee tor six years and i could say this, this is a political stunt to be sure. but it is highlighting a point. the immigration system is broke ep. there are a lot of people coming into the country unlawfully and many are seeking asylum and many are not legitimate asylum cases. but the point is the immigration system is broken. they need to deal with the dreamers, they need to make sure that their adequate detention beds and immigration judges, to process these things. there isn't infrastructure at the border to deal with this. these people have to be zelt with humanely and be fair. the office of refugee resettlement routinely will send migrants from the border up into the interior of the country like it did in my district in pennsylvania. we often housed refugees. i don't agree with the way they're doing this. some of the governors. but they are making a point. they need help from washington. to fix this system, once and for all. and frankly both parties have a lot to be blamed for in this situation. >> let's get advance to respond to that. what do you think? >> well when the office of resettlement does it, they call ahead and they coordinate and make sure that services are in place and do it in a responsible way. it is not an ambush. it is not tricking and trapping people and then traumatizing then and throwing them out into a bewildering situation with tv cameras. this is a completely different situation when it is done the right way. now i agree that the people in the border towns are frustrating. i don't think that we've done a good enough job solving the crisis. but what is happening with the gop governors, their pimping the pain of border towns and the migrants for their own purposes and solving no problem. this is making a point but they're not solving the problem. i think biden has an opportunity here. he should call all of the governors in, to the white house, and they should sit down and roll sleeves up and get to work. if desantis were serious, he would have contacted the national governor's association, a bipartisan body and said we have a problem, let's coordinate to fix it. he did not do that. instead he engaged in a multi-minutes conspiracy to dough fraud people and put them at risk and i hope the department of justice does something about it. >> miguel, you've been doing a lot of reporting. some are stoking fears of illegal immigration. but the men and women and children sent to martha's vineyard are all asylum seekers, aren't they? they're legal asylum-seekers? >> yeah. this is sort of the complications. people who cross the border and claim asylum especially those from venezuela, a country and a government that ron desantis is not like and has spoken out against many, many times. venezuela migrants, he has supported over and again for these people to be moved up here. they are here on a legal basis. they are claiming asylum. they have ongoing legal meetings and hearings in across the country, in california and washington state and cincinnati, in texas. sending them to martha's vineyard, complicates all of that. they were well taken care of in martha's vineyard and will be fine eventually. but it just added another wrinkle and another difficulty to a very difficult journey they are on. >> good point. charlie, considering the sensitivity of this issue in florida politics, is there a risk that all of this could backfire for governor desantis there? >> well, yeah, actually there is. wolf, because there is a substantial patriot venezuela population in florida. and many of them are i think sympathetic to the republican party. to be perfectly candid. many of them have escaped a socialist form of government. many similar to the story of the cubans who left cuba and they've come to florida and ma of them identify with the republican party. so i think governor desantis has be very careful with how he treats these migrants. again, i think the venezuela has some royalty to the republican party and co put that part of electorate at risk if he's not careful with his management of this situation. >> van, let me give you the final word, go ahead. >> i want to just point out one thing. they're getting hugged and sandwiches and everything is great. no harm, no foul. a little political stunt from the frat
