james freeman, and robert wolf, thank you to both of you for being here. robert, will voters buy this? i'll put up the lending tree survey that now shows 63% of respondents say they are living paycheck to paycheck. it's a brutal environment out there for a lot of american families, and now democrats are trying to say this is our priority. we have this. too little too late? >> i think the economy should have been their priority and has been in many ways. inflation reduction act on prescription drugs was a real win. i think infrastructure was a real win. that being said, i don't think there is a focus on the deficit as a country, there should be. and the deficit has come down by 50%, by 1.2 trillion. those are just facts. i think we have to get offense on the economy and i hope it's not too little too late, two weeks to go seems a little late. >> sandra: seems this group of lawmakers in new england obviously see the pain so many are about to feel as they are going to start getting those heating bills this winter and they are going to be at record highs. a gro

let me bring in steve moore former economic advisor to president trump and robert wolf, fox news contributer president obama administration economic advisor. gentlemen, great to see you this morning. steve moore, the jobs report was strong enough that the federal reserve will stay course to fight inflation. if you look at what the market is doing this morning, that's why you get the negative reaction. >> yeah, look, on balance it's a positive report. the one thing i think a lot of economists like me and i think probably robert are concerned about was another decline in the labor force participation rate, which means the reason the unemployment rate fell is fewer americans are looking for jobs. we need 4, 5, 6 million more americans working in this economy. i don't like the idea, by the way, dagen, that is so common in the financial markets that somehow people working will mean higher inflation. that's a good thing. in the 1980s and 1990s in the trump era we had low inflation and low unemployment at the same time. we have to get back to that. one other quick point wages up only 5%. inflation

let's bring in our panel, steve moore, former trump advisor and robert wolf, love both having you herelways have a constructive debate on this. i'm going to first pull up the dow and ask you for what's happening now in the markets. as we pull it up, the highs of the day, the dow up 845 points, but it has fallen below 30,000, a big psychological level for investors. seems like it's making a comeback. what's going on in markets? >> glad to see the comeback, it's a great day. the first good day in a long time on the stock market, people have lost a lot of money in the 401(k), but still where we were in 2021, and inflation, people lost 12% of their lifetime savings. i'll say this, i'm very worried about the economy slipping into recession right now. all the big indicators, manufacturing -- >> you don't believe we are in one? two quarters of contraction. >> good point, but i think things will get worse before better. >> you have a lot of economists calling for 50 basis points in december instead of 75, and the u.k. backtracking on the tax cuts, a big positive less inflation. and then all of

with that, we bring in kellyanne conway and robert wolf, former economic adviser to president obama. to have you with us today. a lot of folks looked at that "new york times" sienna poll today and said, wow, this could go either way. robert, what is your reaction? >> i was pleasantly surprised that it had us up five plus points on most of those. i don't look at polls that closely. kellyanne does that for a living. my gut feel is we're going to do better election night than what the gop thinks. they think there's a wave. there's no wave coming. i think warnock will win. probably go to a run-off. tim ryan will be an upset victor in ohio. i think fetterman will pull it out. >> martha: so you're not a fan of this "new york times" sienna poll. why? what is wrong with this poll? >> it's simple. "the new york times" poll has been a disaster. they have embarrassed themselves in 2020 alone, they had mark kelly winning by two. biden up three points in iowa. trump won by eight. martha, that is a 11-point difference. when you do things like that, you're depressing donors, you're telling the vote
