chief legal correspondent shannon bream live outside the supreme court in washington. this case is very important and could have huge impacts and consequences across our country. >> you are exactly right. this is one of the things in covering the court for 15 years, this subject has come back again and again and again. as colleges and universities struggle with they say wanting to put together a very diverse incoming class and trying to find a careful way to do that when they are using race. the plaintiffs in this case are a group of asian american students saying essentially they're being subjected to discrimination because of some of the policies. they say that students who come in as black or latino applicants are much more weighted toward admission and winding up to be, they say, a backlash against them as asian american students whether they have equal or higher schools is their complaint. harvard and unc say we're trying to do the best we can putting together the incoming policies. harvard said we haven't figured out a better way to do it and keep doing it. the c
