i'm ken wayne. officials say the sam tran bus driver hit more than a dozen cars at the ceremony center around noon today. >> 4 people had to be taken to the hospital. kron four's dan thorn in daily city tonight with more on what happened. >> cars crashed into and shopping carts sent flying and crushed a sam trans bus responsible for hurting several people at the sarah mancini center friday morning. i have never seen anything like this before afternoon. a parking that's a lot of cars. in hope everyone's ok, the damaged cars were scattered around the lot next to the target store. one of the shopping carts stuck underneath the front end of the bus. the immediate area cordoned office. deputies worked the scene. we've learned this bus driver is telling investigators that they careened off of their route because of brake failure. the bus then crashed into 16 vehicles and of those 4 people that were hurt. one of them is in critical condition. >> a scary day for shoppers outside of this target store in daly

i'm ken wayne. it's been a very long day for humboldt county residents after almost 100 aftershocks. >> and dealing with the damage has been left behind by the earthquake. the quake struck just after 2.30, this morning about 7 miles off the coast of northern california. that's more than 200 miles north of san francisco. cal office of emergency services says most of the effects from the quake was felt in the towns of ferndale for tuna and rio down just south of eureka. but people did feel it even here in the bay area. and as far south as los gatos, ana and san jose, the humboldt county sheriff's office confirms that 2 people have, in fact, died as a result of the quake. a 72 year-old and an 83 year-old suffered medical emergencies. they did not get treated in time. another dozen people have been hurt. at least officials say they do expect that number to rise more than 70,000 customers are without power across the county. >> and he's right now the cities of real dale and fortuna have no running water.
