i'm rob nesbitt kron. 4 news. well, there's a new state bill in aims to increase pay from $15 a day too. >> $100 per day. now the bill is modeled after a san francisco pilot program aimed at trying to increase the number of jurors of color. >> nobody should not be allowed to serve in return because they don't have enough money because their job does not allow it because somehow there's a personal circumstance. >> well, result from the pilot program showed an increase in racial and economic diversity on juries. rival fast. we workers urging support for a bill requiring employers to pay for food safety training because before california restaurant workers can work, they must first complete food safety training courses and receive an official certificate of completion. that's a requirement they must taken part every 3 years. the cost of about $15 to the employee. state law requires a worker to pay for that training. but a new bill would change that. so instead it would require employers to do so and compensate worker

gayle ong kron. 4 news. gayle, thank you. developing news now, a 17 year-old from oakland is behind bars tonight for the murder of a man in alameda county. the victim. 35 year-old. >> lamar converse was killed late last month in ashland, police believe the suspect attempted to rob converse and then shot him multiple times. the converse am lee has set up a gofundme to help with his burial costs. the 17 year-old is booked into the alameda county juvenile detention center. and 3 people sitting in a cafe working on their laptops, found themselves the targets of an armed robbery attempt this week just before 2 o'clock tuesday, 2 men entered san francisco's lake cafe just so lay and tried to make off with those laptops. police say at 1.1 of the would-be robbers pulled out a gun. in the end, the men were able to steal anything. but one of the victims was injured in the scuffle. people in the area say they were not expecting something like this to happen here. >> it's really shocking me >> when expect that and i think crime in genera

good evening and thank you for joining us for kron. 4 news at 6. >> i'm dan and i'm noelle bellow kron four's gayle ong spoke with the president of the police union about what happened last night. and what's being done about the violence in oakland. she joins us now in the newsroom with more kale. daniel. well, the president of oakland's police union says resources are stretched thin. >> and local police say 3 people were shot and killed last night in 3 hours. >> another tragic low tonight on the streets of oakland, investigators remain at the scenes of 3 separate friday night shootfngs throughout saturday afternoon. sergeant barry donelan, president of the oakland police officers association says man was shot and killed around 07:45pm on the 7200 block of international boulevard. that's about 5 blocks away from the coliseum. bart station, a second deadly shooting happened about an hour later. just 2 blocks away again on international boulevard. 2 hours later, a 3rd shooting not far from the first 2 on 67th avenue. all 3 victims died before they could be taken to the hospital where at
