tower raining at a good clip on the other side of the bay in oakland. the amount that has added up is highly variable. over one inch in kentfield to the north bay, 3/4 inch in ben lowman. other amounts are less than half of an inch but it has been falling quickly causing some localized flooding with underpasses, ramps and flood prone intersections. san jose picking up .07 inches, but more is moving in. this is the current field. the yellow indicates moderate rain, the red is wiavth hemoinre than a quarter per hour. there is a lot of red over the north bay with the next batch surging into santa rosa across 101 making its way to sonoma and napa county. san francisco has a break in the action which will be replaced by heavier rain that's offshore with a batch that was in the city crossing the oakland hills and is now moving to the tri-valley to the south. occasional heavy rainfall climbing over the santa cruz mountains and is now moving into the santa clara valley. plenty more offshore with a cluster of heavy rain 100 miles of the coast which will come into the rest of tonight. any of the higher elevations spots will be more efficient to squee

when for you in the north bay, you didn't get much of a break at points. >> this is your view from suture tower. looking out at a much clearer view. we've seen a few lingering sprinkles this morning and you can see those still hanging out for a few spots in the east bay right now i'm looking at you from san leandro on up into the hills over to alamo in walnut creek and even a little snow on top of mount diablo. so we're not completely out of it yet. but most of us are looking at sunshine at this point. liotle snowfall up in the mount hamilton area and also holding on to some snow up around lake tahoe up in the sierra 30's 40's for current temps. the cold trend continues, but not for much longer today and tomorrow or cold days where we'll get some more mountain snow into the evening tonight. but after that, things begin to warm up and we have a concern for a lot of snow melt as the weekend gets here. winds not a huge factor right now. so what you need to know for today, keep the jackets with you, but enjoy it because we've got heavy rain and warming temps this weekend. i've got your full coverag
