he is a virginia native, originally from roanoke, two-time uva graduate.following his time at uva and uva law school, he originally clerked for judge peter bear for the eastern district of louisiana. following this brief stinlts outside of virginia he returned to private practice in richmond and roanoke where he litigated complex civil issues. in 2011 he was selected by the article 3 judges of the western district to support as a magistrate judge. over the past 12 jeers judge -- years judge ballou has continued to earn the respect and admiration of the article 3 judges that hopefully for the next few days he will actually serve with. and i think will do, again, a great job. he will be replacing retiring judge jones. i know senator kaine and i both have had the pleasure -- i think you may have practiced with him occasionally, but big shoes to fill in, he will do that. again, as has been mentioned, judge ballou has really been known as a magistrate judge for his temperament. the fact that he is -- that lawyers that appear in his courtroom indicate he works d

this is roanoke park expressway. a flooded sign was posted, but some cars drove around it, and found the roadway covered with water. while many turned around, others decided to drive right on through. now, water levels were rising, especially at creeks in the north bay. this is laguna de santa rosa, and all the run off from the low lying area is flooding into the waterway. a lot of water was also settling on what used to be bone dry farmland until we started to get all this rain last year. the ground is so saturated that the water just sits above ground. now, there's a flood advisory, as paul mentioned, until 9:45 tonight in sonoma county. they're just ask people to be really careful on the highway and roads because water is starting to accumulate. it's really hard to see at night when you're driving. back to you. >> absolutely. i was wondering because you cover that area and know the roads there. was it heart to navigate with your photographer and you as well tonight? >> reporter: yeah, you know, because we've been

around the bay, 56 in san francisco and 57 in oakland and 56 for roanoke park and santa rosa at 57.ds are coming in at 56 this afternoon. the futurecast, as we go hour by hour, you can see some sunshine and clearing through our day today. we are looking at maybe the chance for a pop-up isolated shower for the north bay for the most part we are looking at those dry and quiet conditions through the day today. as we look ahead to saturday morning, it will be even colder for saturday morning and for sunday morning but, again, looking at sunshine. we are dry today through the weekend with just maybe a passing cloud and temperatures on the cool side and as we look to next week, that is when we will see the next storm system. that will bring more rain and wind. looking at late monday into tuesday and wednesday. the seven-day forecast, as we look to the next few days, there we go with a break from the rain. if returns as we look ahead to late monday and tuesday and wednesday and at this point, tuesday, we see heavy rain and the strong winds and that will be the day to watch. next week, here
