the east bay, as well as the south bay. this is going to be clearing for the afternoon. we're preparing for this. all of the clouds, the arealow pressure, and the high amount of moisture that's going to be pumped in from hawaii straight into the bay area. we call that an atmospheric river. this quick morning shower, once again, and then we have an aerial flood watch that's been put up for the entire bay area as we're preparing for 3 to 7 inches of rainfall. this will increase the threat of landslides and mudslides, as well as high winds kicking up as the storm system arrives, 20 to 50 miles per hour winds, could cause power outages, down some trees. you do want to make sure you're starting to prepare for the potential of not having power for a while. now, we're also going to see sierra snowmelt, about 4,000 feet in elevation and below, and there could be up to 5 feet of snow in some higher elevations. so once again, the rain we're seeing now will be clearing out and that will be the time to clear the storm drains, make sure everything around the house is ready for a lot of rain we'll see coming in tomorrow afternoon. it con

let's check out temperatures around the bay area tomorrow are looking to cool numbers in the san francisco bit. windy in the afternoon to specially along the coastline. 52 bundle up the pacific at 52 and half moon bay inside the bay. 54 in millbrae. 55 degrees in burlingame. you're looking at 53 in woodside. 58 in mount view, the south bay. those temperatures probably about the mid to upper 50's. so stay on the cool side. but lots of sunshine there. 59 1 of the warmer spots and live more 58 in hayward. 55 in castro valley about 59 degrees in walnut creek. as you make your way back toward the coastline, those winds really going to kick up and temperatures just a low. it is going to feel chilly out there, too. so next couple days say we keep things mostly dry. there's a slight chance you could see a sprinkle into that period but mostly dry and then storm clouds roll back in on monday. by next tuesday, we get hit by another storm system right now. looks like a very potent storm. hopefully the track will change in the forecast. but right now, i think this is the time to get ready. and we've go

it's going to give us the best view of both the north bay, the south bay, all around the bay area, asoves in. and right now it's mainly the north bay that's getting the more widespread rain, but we're also seeing some pockets of some heavier downpours, not only for solano county, but moving into contra costa county as well. so a closer look at the north bnow for the upper elevations, with spotty activity the farther south you go. we've seen the wave of rain moving around the mount diablo area. elsewhere, we are seeing lighter showers moving through for the peninsula, widening out the view so you can see how this storm continues to evolve and strengthen, even though the lows are going to stay off the coast of the bay area, it's also going to have a pretty big impact. last week we had the same kind of storm, but it dropped right over us, and that's the reason why it brought down a lot more trees. so here is where we rank our year, how this basically stacks up to our previous years. san francisco rainfall so far measuring over 30 inches, and the last time we had this much rain was 2005.
