east bay mud hopes to turn into a line for recycled water. in the north bay.he quality of water said through this. the bypass line, the original water line was damaged when a hillside near i-680, collapsed last week prompting the city to declare a local emergency on friday, the city announced staff members are assessing the structural integrity of the newly built pipes. all that could take about a week. meantime, the city is tapping into a secondary source of water from nearby lake herman. but that water may look and taste earthy all residents, businesses, schools and hotels are asked to reduce their water usage by 40%. main water district is asking people to novato to keep their sprinklers and irrigation systems turned off the company's shut off a section of a pipeline due to a landslide near old polly state park to make some damage assessments. and these are pictures you're looking at now of the landslide on redwood boulevard. it happened last month. this is the same landslide that exposed pg e gas lines. the water district says it hopes to finish its testin

in the east bay. students in walnut creek have now returned to class after a freshman student stabbed another classmate kron four's. charles clifford has the latest. >> well, here in walnut creek on wednesday, students at northgate high school are back in the classrooms after one of their classmates was seriously wounded and another taken into custody around 01:00pm. on tuesday, walnut creek police responded here to northgate high school reports that a female 9th grade student had been stabbed and needed medical attention. she was taken to the hospital at last check was in stable condition. her alleged attacker, a 9th grade boy, was taken into custody and transported to contra costa county juvenile hall. he is facing charges of attempted murder and mayhem. the victim and alleged attacker are apparently classmates. but so far we do not know a motive for the attack. on wednesday, the mount diablo unified school district had counselors on campus for any students who might need to talk about what happened

low to mid-80s in the east bay. tied with morgan hill, antioch and brentwood. temperatures around the bay cooler than today. temperatures top out around 70 degrees for oakland and the east bay with mostly mid-70s north of the golden gate. not as warm as other parts because the wind will be out of the south bringing the cooler air in the inland valleys until you go farther north. we go from temperatures inland running 5 to 10 above normal tomorrow to near or below average temperatures on sunday, the beginning of a big pattern shift that will bring rain chances to the bay area beginning on monday. the best rain chance is tuesday. but still lingering rain chances through the rest of the first week of may and into the first weekend in may. not exactly a typical pattern for early may but it's what we have to contend with. no day is a complete washout but be flexible with outdoor plans. tuesday is the best chance of rain for everybody. the atmosphere will be unstable enough with cold air in the upper levels that we could hear a few rumbles of thunder on tuesday and th
